How to Install TWRP Recovery and Root Nextbit Robin

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Nextbit Robin

  1. Install the USB driver and setup the Minimal ADB and Fastboot on your computer.
  2. Connect your Robin to your computer using a data cable.
  3. You can enable Developer options by going to Settings>>About and tap on Build number 7 times.
  4. Enable USB Debugging on your smartphone by going to Settings>>Developer options and tick USB Debugging.
  5. Move the SuperSU.zip file into the internal storage of your Nextbit Robin.
  6. Open the folder where you setup ADB and Fastboot on your computer.
  7. Move the TWRP-Recovery-IMG file into that folder.
  8. Press Right click+Shift on blank space in that folder.
  9. Select Open command window here to open ADB and Fastboot command window.
  10. In command window type “adb devices” to confirm that your smartphone is connected properly.
  11. Type “adb reboot bootloader” to boot your smartphone into bootloader mode.
  12. When your smartphone boot up into bootloader mode type “fastboot oem unlock” to unlock the bootloader of your Nextbit Robin.
  13. Now, Type “fastboot flash recovery TWRP-Recovery-File-Name” to flash TWRP Recovery.Change TWRP-Recovery-File-Name with the name of TWRP Recovery file.

TWRP Recovery has been flashed on your Nextbit Robin.Now, Follow the below guide to root your smartphone.If you don’t want to root the simply type “adb reboot” to reboot your smartphone normally.

How to Root Nextbit Robin

  1. Type “fastboot boot recovery” to boot your smartphone into TWRP Recovery.
  2. In TWRP Recovery tap on Install.
  3. Select the SuperSU.zip file from the internal storage of your smartphone.
  4. Swipe to confirm the flashing process.
  5. Once the flashing process completes tap on Reboot to reboot your smartphone normally.
After following this process your Nextbit Robin is rooted successfully.You can install Root Checker app from Play Store to confirm the root.
