Root Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 on Marshmallow 6.0.1

Samsung launched Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 in 2015.Tab S2 9.7 comes with 3 GB RAM and 32/64 GB internal storage with microSD option for expandable storage.As the name tells this device has 9.7 inches 1536 x 2048 resolution Super AMOLED display with 264 ppi of density which is great for a tablet.Tab S2 9.7 also have a fingerprint sensor in home button for more security.

Root Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 on Marshmallow 6.0.1

Samsung updated Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.This update brings many new features like Doze, New app permission etc.You can easily root your Marshmallow based Tab S2 9.7.Follow the given instruction to root Galaxy Tab S2 9.7.

  1. Samsung USB Driver
  2. Odin3 v3.10.6,zip
  3. Check the model of your tablet and download the root file from below given:
  1. Install the USB Driver for your tablet into your computer.
  2. Connect your tablet to the computer and enable the USB Debugging options given into Developer options tab of settings.
  3. Disconnect tablet from the computer and power it off.
  4. Press and hold the Volume down, Power and Home button together when the device is switched off to boot into download mode.
  5. Connect your Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 with the computer again and press volume up button to confirm download mode.
  6. Unzip an open Odin3 into your computer.
  7. Unzip the root file into your computer.
  8. Click on AP button in Odin and select the unzipped root file.
  9. Make sure that only “Auto Reboot” and “F.Reset Time” is selected in options tab of Odin.
  10. Click on Start button to flash the root file.
When the Odin shows Pass message your tablet will reboot into recovery mode to complete the root process.
That’s it, your Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is rooted successfully.

    after the step 10: Odin shows "Pass message", tablet did not reboot into recovery mode, tablet on screen show "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING".. and stop there..
    Please help…

    Same with me. Was able to re-flash the stock 6.0.1 ROM, but not happy. I wonder if this root method is actually for 5.x.x ROMs, but published incorrectly here (and other mirrored articles).
